AI and Healthcare! Wherever I go, everyone is talking about AI. After countless conversations for now I bring it down to 8A’s.
Automation, Accuracy, Accessibility, Affordability, Assistance, Accountability, Analytics and the 8th A is in the end.
1. Automation
AI has revolutionized healthcare by automating routine tasks, allowing medical professionals to focus on the task that matter most to them. From administrative functions like scheduling to clinical tasks such as interpreting lab results, AI automates repetitive processes.
2. Accuracy
AI has been a game changer in diagnostic accuracy. Machine learning algorithms can analyze large datasets to detect patterns that humans might miss, providing more accurate diagnoses. AI in medical imaging, for example, helps radiologists interpret X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans with a higher level of precision.
3. Accessibility
India is a large country with a huge shortage of healthcare facilities. One of AI’s most important contributions is making healthcare more accessible. Telemedicine platforms powered by AI allow patients to consult with healthcare professionals remotely, which is particularly beneficial for individuals in rural or underserved areas.
4. Affordability
Healthcare is expensive, sometimes one of the biggest burdens in a family. AI can reduce the cost of healthcare, making services more affordable for both providers and patients.
5. Assistance
A lot of doctors are worried that AI will replace them. No!!!
AI does not aim to replace healthcare professionals but rather to assist their abilities. By assisting doctors with complex diagnoses and treatment planning, AI enhances human decision-making.
6. Accountability
As AI becomes more integrated into healthcare systems, it brings the need for accountability. Ensuring that AI algorithms are transparent, ethical, and unbiased is essential for building trust in AI-driven systems. The Goverment, Bodies, Healthcare providers and tech developers must work together to ensure that AI tools are designed and used in ways that protect patient privacy, maintain data security, and deliver fair, evidence-based care.
7. Analytics
One of AI’s most powerful contributions to healthcare is its ability to process and analyze vast amounts of data. As we will keep collecting data (ethically) we will keep getting insights into the healthcare landscape like we never have before.
8. If you have been a follower of my posts you will know that I am a pakka “sales guy”, I blatantly and shamelessly market myself.
So the last A is Aleem Merchant. I am looking for opportunities to speak, discuss and market solutions within AI & healthcare, also for work on projects with AI, tech, digital marketing, social media and of course my bread-butter, creative marketing of healthcare and pharma brands. Get in touch 😉
